Hats and Body Protectors

British Riding Clubs have published the latest guidance and rules for Hats and Body Protectors.

NB You may have read about the change to riding hat standards concerning EN1384:  the guidance indicates that there is no effective change for 2015 (EN1384 is acceptable) - however, from 1st January 2016 EN (or BSEN) 1384 is not of itself a sufficient standard (hats additionally conforming to remaining approved standards will acceptable).

Look out for this if buying a new hat!

Note from Chairman

As Atherstone and District Riding Club starts its 52nd year, we are pleased and proud to welcome you to our 2012 season. Whether you are already familiar with us or just starting your association, we hope you will always find a friendly, enjoyable atmosphere at the events we run.
Atherstone and District Riding Club is part of the British Riding Club organisation and as a member you are part of a growing number of horse and pony lovers who wish to compete against each other, have fun, learn about and share their passion for riding. Over the years our club has had great success nationally across all the club disciplines, at both senior and junior levels. 2011 was certainly no exception with the highest number of riders competing at the Lincoln Championships. We are very proud of these achievements and hope they will continue. If you are interested in representing the club at Area events, please contact the relevant Team Managers to obtain more information.
Despite our success last year our membership fell, a trend we would very much like to reverse. In an attempt to boost the number of competitors at our club shows and to broaden our appeal, we have made changes to the format this season. We have added some arena eventing style practise evenings and we are including the Midarc Championship qualifier classes in the showing and dressage rings at all club shows. We have taken steps over the winter to improve the jumping surfaces following last year's very dry summer, and we have also tried to keep price increases to a minimum to ensure your annual membership still provides excellent value for money, when compared to many eapproved centre' fees.
We have a website which is regularly updated and a Facebook page to keep you up to date with forthcoming events. We also welcome any comments and suggestions you may have. The club has a very dedicated and enthusiastic committee who would appreciate more help especially on show days. If you or another family member could spare any amount of time to assist with the mountain of numerous tasks required to run our events, then please come forward!
Finally, we wish you all the best of luck for 2012, and hope to see you competing and having fun at our events.
Thank you for your continued support.

Lucinda, Alison and Kim.
